High temperature sensors

The department focuses on the investigation and development of high-temperature stable materials, physical effects and methods that can be used in the field of sensor technology and energy conversion. Atomic transport processes, which are either directly responsible for the function of components at high temperature or determine their manufacturing steps at high temperature, play a key role. The defect chemistry of the materials used is also of interest, so that models for charge carrier concentration and transport can be derived at the atomic level.
